Camp Catapult 2000
Would you be interested in coming to a slingshot/catapultry camp a few days before the Summer Nationals Slingshot Tournament?
If there are enough people interested it is possible that just such a camp can be held this summer. 10 to 15 people would be enough for us to put together a camp.
I will be hosting the camp with Blue Skeen and Ivan Glenn on hand as Doctors of Phorkology, Slingshot Specialists, Master Shooters & Teachers, and Expert Craftsmen in the art of handcrafting slingshots.
At the camp you would learn how to make a slingshot, learn how to shoot a slingshot, see my slingshot collection, practice tournament events, visit with other slingshot enthusiasts, and any thing else we can think up to do with slingshots.
Please contact me soon if you might be interested so that I can plan on how many people will be here.
Possible camp events would include:
Build your own custom slingshots under the direction of Master
Slingshot Craftsmen
Slingshot Accuracy Clinic
Unlimited Shooting Sessions
Personalized Coaching
Variety of Shooting Contests and Games
Guest Speakers
Boomerang Throwing?
Archery
Knife and Tomahawk Throwing
Cookouts
Buy-Sell-Trade Slingshots

SLINGSHOT RENDEZVOUS
AUGUST 10-12, 2000
CHAMBERSBURG, ILLINOIS
The following people will be at the Summer Nationals Slingshot Tournament and Slingshot Rendezvous.
Richard "Blue" Skeen will be conducting a slingshot workshop on making and shooting slingshots. Blue is recognized by all the top shooters as the man to beat if they can. Blue's shooting skills are matched by his ability to teach others how to shoot slingshots with accuracy. You will have the opportunity to make your own Blue Skeen slingshot under his expert teaching and handcrafting skills.
Ivan Glenn will also be conducting a slingshot workshop on making and shooting slingshots. In the past year, Ivan has taken the making of a forked slingshot to a fine art. You will also have the opportunity to complete an Ivan Glenn slingshot. As one of the top shooters in the world, Ivan will be teaching you how to shoot a slingshot as he shoots with his winning style.
John Cryderman will be here with a display of his amazing slingshot designs and his fantastic boomerangs. It is hoped that we will be able to do some boomerang throwing too. John designed and donated the special trophy for the top all around shooter at the Summer Nationals Slingshot Tournament this year. John will also have a very special slingshot on display at the tournament. This may become an important part of the SNST for 2001.
Lou Becker of Bowsport Archery will be here to demonstrate Atlatls and Darts. Besides making Atlatls, Lou also makes slingshots, slings, other primitive weapons, and writes books on how to make primitive weapons. Again it is hoped that we will be able to try out some of these items.
Mark Williamson the inventor of the Slinger, Killer Slingshot, and Shotputter Golf Slingshot will be here to demonstrate his slingshots. We are hoping to set up a 1 hole golf course for a special tournament event.
I will have my slingshot collection on display and hope to have slingshot displays by some other shooters and/or collectors.
I hope to be able to report later on of even more people who will be at the Rendezvous and tournament.
GOT OUTFIT???

My outfit is beginning to take shape! While it is not necessary for you to have a cowboy outfit to shoot in the Summer Nationals, it will add fun to your time at the tournament.
To assist you with your outfit I have a couple of ideas to start with.
First if you are interested in getting a pair of spurs for your outfit try looking at The Pine Ridge 7 Ranch web site for a super range of types of spurs. (http:/www.pineridge7.com)
For the rest of your outfit you can visit Boyer Western Wear in Quincy, IL while at the tournament. Greg Boyer has a full line of excellent western wear and will provide a special discount for Summer Nationals Slingshot Tournament participants. He has a western style store front and a covered wagon that will be great for taking pictures in your cowboy outfit.
The Official Outfitter for the Summer Nationals Slingshot Tournament and Cowboy Action Slingshot Shooting.
Boyer Western Wear

Quincy, IL 62301

If you call Greg Boyer to find out about items for your outfit tell him that I recommended his store to you. You could come early to the tournament and stop at Boyers to get or complete your outfit.
Host Hotel
Super 8 Motel
1003 W. Morton Ave.
Jacksonville, IL 62650
217-479-0303
We will have about 20 rooms at the Super 8 Motel for SNST participants. You need to get your room quickley because we can only have this number of rooms at the special rates for tournament people.
Rates: Single Room (2 people)
$38.00 per night
Double Room (2 to 4
people) $42.00 per night
When you call the motel for reservations you have to mention my name and the Summer Nationals Slingshot Tournament to get the special rates. The other rates and other motels are running from about $55 to $65.
